Annual salary: €7.88m

After appointing the Italian as Russia head coach in 2012, Capello became the fifth highest paid manager in world football, and the richest national team boss bar none, based on his annual salary.

The 67-year-old has a reputation as one of the most successful tacticians, having enjoyed league title and Champions League success with AC Milan, Real Madrid, and AS Roma.

Capello successfully guided Russia to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil this summer, and has outlined his intention to remain in charge for four more years after coaching them in the same tournament that they'll be hosting in 2018.
