Seaman joined City on a free from Arsenal..

Top five: Arsenal vs Manchester City games (2)

Published 1 Comments

5. Manchester City 1-2 Arsenal, 2003

Memorable in the most part for two reasons.

One, David Seaman was lining up against Arsenal having played for the club for 13 years, and secondly for one of the most bizarre own goals you're likely to see.

Under pressure from a City forward, Cameroonian Lauren proceeded to run towards Jens Lehmann in the Arsenal goal, before slotting the ball into the bottom corner, leaving the German perplexed.

The Gunners eventually won the game thanks to goals from Sylvain Wiltord and Freddie Ljungberg.
