Arsenal were sitting pretty at the top of the league and playing some incredible football when they visited the Etihad in December.

By the end of the 90 minutes, the Gunners were still top, but a doubt - or six - would no doubt have crept into their mind about their staying power.

City were rampant, finding the net at will, although for the first half an hour the Gunners held their own.

Theo Walcott equalised on the half hour mark after Aguero had given the home side the lead.

A Fernandinho double was more than deserved as the Brazilian put in his best performance in a sky blue shirt.

Walcott - who had just returned from injury - also bagged a brace but it proved irrelevant as Arsenal were swept aside.
