This could be the season Steven Gerrard finally wins his first Premier League winners’ medal, but even if the Liverpool hero finishes his career without one, he’ll still be remembered as a true great of England’s top domestic league.

The England international is everything you could possibly want in a captain: committed, brave, talismanic - a proper leader.

Gerrard has scored some of the most remarkable goals of the Premier League era, and some crucial ones, too. The midfielder turns 34 in May, and it would be fitting if he ends his career with at least one Premier League triumph under his belt.
