3. Alan Shearer
What a brilliant striker Alan Shearer was. In terms of being an out-and-out goalscoring centre-forward, the retired England international was, quite simply, the very best.
Shearer scored a magnificent 260 Premier League goals in 434 appearances. No other player in Premier League history has even managed to score over 190 goals, which shows just how prolific the Newcastle-born striker was.
The current Match of the Day pundit netted 112 goals in 138 games for Blackburn Rovers, picking up the 1994/95 Premier League title along the way, before going on to score 148 in 303 matches with his beloved Magpies.
