Williams was to strong for Li Na yet again
Williams was to strong for Li Na yet again.

There were no dark horses, no shock exits no major drama this year in Miami. Both men and women draw ended in blockbuster finals between world no. 1s and 2s.

In the women's final Serena Williams faced Li Na, who has already won the Australian Open title and reached a career-high ranking this season.

But even despite playing her best tennis and a strong start to the game, Li wasn't able to stop Serena from defending the title.

The Chinese star managed to break Williams twice in the opening set and was serving to take it 6-2 .

What followed was a silent “In your dreams” message from Serena. The American has saved a set point, took the next five games, and in result won 7-5.

Li went all in, she was taking the risk even on the second serve, saving herself with challenges, desperately trying to stay in the game. It would probably suffice against anyone else. But not Serena. Not in Miami.

The World no.1 lost only one game in the second set proving that the 5,500-point gap between the two is no mistake.
