Manchester United have been handed a double injury boost ahead of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash with Bayern Munich tomorrow evening.

As reported by the Mirror, the defensive duo of Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans have returned to training for the Red Devils.

Smalling, who has been out for the past couple of weeks with a hamstring problem, could feature against the Bavarians tomorrow night. Evans also appears in contention for a starting spot, despite having been on the sidelines with a calf strain since February 1.

With Patrice Evra out of the showdown through suspension, it appears that Alex Buttner will start at full-back for David Moyes' side.

Manchester United will be desperate to gain a positive result against Pep Guardiola's side ahead of the second leg at the Allianz Arena.

United will head into the game in high spirits after they beat Aston Villa 4-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday lunch time. The clash with Bayern looks set to be Moyes' biggest test yet as manager of Manchester United.
