Manchester United could be without first-team star against Bayern

Manchester United right-back Rafael da Silva is a major doubt for his side's Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

The Brazilian defender was forced off during the interval against Aston Villa on Saturday due to a problem with his thigh.

And it now looks like he could be forced into sitting out Manchester United's all-important Champions League tie with the holders of the competition.

David Moyes is facing a major selection headache ahead of tomorrow's tie at Old Trafford as Antonio Valencia, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans have just returned to training after knocks.

The Scotsman may have to move Phil Jones to right-back and deploy either Rio Ferdinand or the aforementioned Evans next to club captain Nemanja Vidic.

Whoever starts at right-back will have to try and keep Bayern Munich superstar Franck Ribery quiet.

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley is also expected to miss Manchester United's quarter-final clash against Bayern Munich as he was also absent from training.
