Andrew Wiggins is expected to declare himself for the NBA draft on Monday afternoon after the Kansas Jayhawks called a press conference, reports CBS Sports.
The projected No.1 pick for this year's draft was always expected to declare at some point, but it appears the time has come for him to make it official. The Jayhawks have called a press conference for 3 p.m. ET to be attended by Wiggins and KU coach Bill Self.
Wiggins, who spent just one year in college basketball, is expected to be the top pick and will almost definitely be snapped up in the top three. He averaged 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds for KU this season.
The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the teams putting Wiggins at the top of their draft wish list. After a 26-game losing streak, the Sixers have got the second worst record across the NBA and have a good chance of getting a top pick in the draft lottery.
Kansas saw their season come to a surprisingly premature end last weekend as the second-seeded team lost out to the number 10 seeds Stanford in the Round of 32.
