We start with college basketball, as the Kentucky Wildcats secured their place in the final four of the NCAA tournament in dramatic style last night.

Freshman guard Aaron Harrison hit a game winning three-pointer in the dying stages for the Cats, as they triumphed 75-72 over Michigan.

In Baseball, the San Diego Padres defeated the LA Dodgers 3-1 with Seth Smith hitting a crucial home run in the 8th inning.

The reigning World Series champion Boston Red Sox will begin the defence of their crown against the Baltimore Orioles later today.

In the NBA, the Indiana Pacers slipped to a 90-76 defeat against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Pacers still remain atop of the East.

And finally in the NHL, Sidney Crosby netted twice as the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1 in Pittsburgh. They are bound for the playoffs.
