Ryan Giggs used the press conference ahead of Manchester United’s meeting with Bayern Munich in the Champions League as an opportunity to dismiss the assertion that he has an issue with David Moyes. In fact, such is the affable relationship they enjoy, Giggs and the Manchester United manager even take yoga classes together.

Giggs played a key role in leading Manchester United into the last eight of the Champions League this season as the veteran midfielder orchestrated a comeback against Olympiacos, whereby they overturned a two-goal first-leg deficit to progress. It was a rare outing for Giggs, and immediately begged the question as to why he has been utilised so infrequently.

Reports inevitably emerged that something of a rift has opened up between the Old Trafford icon and his manager and, after Moyes had initially rejected the rumour, Giggs has now followed suit.

Giggs insisted there was ‘obviously no problem’ with Moyes, while the beleaguered Manchester United boss interjected to claim that he has been taking part in yoga classes with the 40-year-old.

Moyes has not played Giggs since his virtuoso display in the defeat of Olympiacos, and it remains to be seen if he will return to the Manchester United midfield for the first leg of the encounter with Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
