Alex Rodriguez will not be in action for the New York Yankees today.
In fact, as we all know by now, A-Rod will not be taking to the plate at all this season as he serves his season long suspension handed out after involvement in the PEDs scandal.
But while his uncle is sitting in the bleachers, Rodriguez's nephew is carrying on the family tradition of hitting home runs.
Joe Dunand is at high school in Miami, and the senior put on a truly impressive display over the weekend in a local tournament.
As reported by the Miami Herald Dunand batted .833 (10 for 12) in Gulliver's five games, hitting nine home runs in the process.
That is all pretty good, but when you learn that Dunand hit eight home runs off his final eight balls then you can't fail to be impressed.
And Rodriguez himself spoke of the achievement, and managed to dampen the mood somewhat in the process.
"I don't know how to explain it...Everyone was in awe.
"I hope he continues what he was doing out there, but nothing is going to top this. Not even if he is a major-league 15-year All-Star, he won't be able to top this," said the controversial Yankee.
Dunand himself is committed to play at N.C. State next year.
