WrestleMania XXX: Predictions

The last Raw before WrestleMania is over and the Smackdown taping was made before last night’s Raw which means the build-up to 'The Grandest Stage of them All' is finally over.

The matches have been made, the rivalries have reached boiling point and now titles will be defended and legacies will be on the line as the curtain to Wrestlemania slowly begins to rise.

This WrestleMania has been built-up as the biggest one ever and WWE really needs to deliver, so here is how I think Sunday will go down.

The Uso’s v Rybaxel v Los Matadores v The Real Americans – Pre-Show

Honestly, I can’t see past The Uso’s retaining here, The Real Americans are set to break up, they have been having various problems lately and I think their feud will lead into Extreme Rules; Los Matadores are not strong enough to hold the gold yet and Rybaxel have been the whipping boys as of late and don’t look like they could match The Uso’s offense. That being said, anything can happen in a fatal-four-way.

The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

There are still four superstars yet to be announced for this one and Rob Van Dam looks like he could be lurking in the shadows for a late call up. I think The Miz will make it through to the last few people and many rivalries will be made in this match, but ultimately I feel someone like Sheamus or The Miz will win this one.

Vickie Guerrero’s Divas Invitational

This match was literally just thrown to us on Raw last week and you have to feel for AJ, she has been a fighting champion for almost a year and now she’s been put into a match on the grandest stage of them all – where she doesn’t even have to be pinned to lose her title! With Total Divas back as well, I think this will also have an effect on the outcome.

The best thing WWE can do have Nikki or Natalya win the title, starting their own feud but also have Tamina cost AJ the title and then there will be two dominant feud’s going on in the Divas division. Hopefully this will give it more of an edge. Last night’s Raw saw Tamina help AJ but it still remains to be seen if these two can stay on the same page.

Kane and The New Age Outlaws v The Shield

The match everyone couldn’t wait for but no one really wants to see. The plans for The Shield back in December were rumoured to be the three facing off in a triple threat match, and judging by the way they stole the show at Elimination Chamber, this was an exciting prospect.
Instead after Punk left Kane had no one to feud with so he came into a feud with The Shield.

They were all back on the same page and there was no way Kane could take them down alone, step up the former tag team champions. The New Age Outlaws only returned a few months ago and have already held titles and now have a decent Wrestlemania match against the biggest stable in WWE today, I guess it pays to be Triple H’s friend…

I still don’t think there is any way The Shield can lose clean to Kane and The New Age Outlaws, the only way they can win is if The Shield fail to co-exist and cost themselves the match, finally setting up their break-up. I don’t think this will happen though, I think The Shield will win clean.

The Undertaker v Brock Lesnar

The Streak v The Beast, I don’t think Brock will be the one to break the streak, many before him have tried and I think Undertaker will go 22-0 at this WrestleMania and then lose possibly to Sting at next year’s event and walk out in a blaze of glory.

Taker is almost 50 years old now and he can’t perform like he used to. CM Punk controlled their entire match last year and I think that will be much of the same this year. For him to continue doing this for another few years is hazardous for him and his opponents, I think Taker should step down soon, with or without his streak. This year he will retain it though.

John Cena v Bray Wyatt

New vs Old, Bray is looking to take away John Cena’s legacy whilst John is fighting to stay true to it. The promo’s leading up to this match have been fantastic. John and Bray are two of the best guys on the mic and they haven’t disappointed. I worry that Bray’s ring skills don’t match those he has on the mic but I think Harper and Rowan will play a main role in this match and Bray will get the win. It seems we are set to see the fall of Cena. John returned the mind games to Bray last night on Raw, as this match becomes one of the hardest on the card to predict.

Daniel Bryan v Triple H

The match that was made in Punk’s absence could now be the best match of the night, with a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line, I think Daniel Bryan will win this one, Triple H has been on top since Summerslam and Daniel needs to get that retribution. I think beating Tripel H at Wrestlemania would be the best form of retribution. And then he will go on to be a part of Batista v Randy Orton.

Batista v Randy Orton v Triple H/Daniel Bryan

If this was just Batista v Orton then everyone would have guessed Batista would have won, it’s the big pay-off he came back for. The fact that Daniel Bryan or Triple H could be in the match makes it a lot harder to predict. I have a feeling that Randy Orton will not want to drop his title to Bryan and could resort to his Viper tactics to get himself disqualified therefore retaining the title.

I can’t see Batista winning it clean either and if Bryan did walk out champion it would be as predictable as this year’s Royal Rumble. The only option people aren’t seeing is for Orton to retain, even though he has been a pretty rubbish champion all the build-up has been about him turning back into The Viper he once was and I think this is why.

Some people think WrestleMania is where all the scores are settled and the stories end, but it isn't it's also there to set up new feuds, so as much as we want various feud's to be over, the build up to Extreme Rules also begins on Sunday and we have the eagerly anticipated Raw after Mania on Monday as well.
