The victory gave the Spurs their 18th straight victory in the league, breaking their franchise record in the process.

Across to baseball and the majority of teams opened up their Major League season yesterday.

Reigning World Series champions Boston Red Sox went down 2-1 to the Baltimore Orioles, whilst the Philadelphia Phillies claimed a 14-10 victory in a high-scoring game against the Rangers.

In the NFL, free agency is hotting up again, with former Philadelphia Eagles wide-out DeSean Jackson a wanted man. NFC East rivals the Washington Redskins are the latest team to interested in him.

And finally in the NHL, the high-flying LA Kings were shocked at home by the Minnesota Wild 3-2 in California last night.
