The New York Jets announced that they have signed wide receiver free agent Jacoby Ford as they continue to build a formidable passing attack this offseason.
The Jets official website revealed: "The Jets signed their second unrestricted free agent wide receiver Tuesday, adding Jacoby Ford to a WR corps that has already been bolstered by the arrival of Eric Decker."
Rex Ryan's team added Decker earlier this offseason on a five-year deal and he will now be joined in the receiver corps by the explosive Ford.
Michael Vick has also been brought in to compete for the starting quarterback job against Geno Smith. It seems whichever QB gets the start for the Jets, they will be blessed with a number of good passing options.
Ford recorded five receiving and rushing touchdowns during his two years with the Oakland Raiders. However he is blessed with devastating pace and astounded scouts at the combine with a 4.28 40-yard dash.
With his speed, Ford could well become the Jets chief return man in addition to getting playing time as a receiver.
