A horrible story from the world of baseball has emerged today.

Three marines were stabbed after they came to the defense of a female Los Angeles Angels fan who was being attacked by two female LA Dodgers fans in Huntington Beach early Sunday morning.

Now thanks to CBS This Morning, a video - which you can see above - has emerged of the attack, showing one of the marines being stabbed in the face with a broken beer bottle whilst attempting to break up the altercation.

According to the ABC 7 report on the incident, the woman in the Angels jersey was arguing with two other Dodgers before it delved into a full on brawl.

The Angels fan was knocked to the ground and was being beaten and kicked in the head before the marines jumped in to try and break up the fight.

At that point they were set upon by the female attackers friends, two of them were stabbed in the process of dissolving the situation and the other was also sent to hospital.

These are truly disturbing scenes to even have to write about. The act of stabbing someone in the face and with a broken bottle just for trying to break up a fight is disgusting and abhorrent behaviour.

Thankfully the bottle wielding attacker and one of the female assailants have already been arrested.
