The New York Jets, after earlier signing Jacoby Ford off free agency, have made another acquisition.
Dimitri Patterson, a cornerback who was with the Miami Dolphins until recently, was announced less than an hour after former Oakland Raiders WR Ford.
Patterson was let go after only playing six games last year for the Dolphins following on from an injury. He did manage to make four interceptions though.
The Jets are making a lot of moves at the moment and are no strangers to bringing in veteran defensive players from Miami. Jason Taylor was also a key figure for both teams before retiring.
Patterson will be starting in his eleventh NFL season and is no stranger to changing teams, having started with the Washington Redskins in 2005.
At the time of writing, there has be no information on his contract length or salary released by the Jets.
The Jets have lost some defensive players this free agency, including Antonio Cromartie early in March and have also picked up Jeremy Reeves and Johnny Patrick in an effort to sure up their outside.
