WWE: Why romance always occurs in the industry

Having a job which involves travelling for hours a day and very few days off a year, it comes as no surprise that WWE superstars get to know each other extremely well.

And these exchanges often turn into romances for several of the wrestlers, coupled with the fact the vast majority of them need to have good looks in order to be a part of the business.

The most recent engagement to be rumoured within the WWE universe was that of CM Punk and AJ Lee, with the latter wearing an engagement ring on monday Night Raw.

CM Punk fans though are still waiting for the 'straight-edge' superstar's return as he has not featured since the Royal Rumble in January. But it remains to be seen whether Punk's departure is linked in any with the proposal.

Two wrestlers who are definitely engaged without any known intention of leaving the company are one half of the Bella twins Brie Bella, and everyone's favourite 'yes' man, Daniel Bryan. This news came after Bryan proposed during a romantic getaway with Brie in September of last year.

Brie's older sister Nikki is also part of a WWE couple, having been dating John Cena since last year. However the pair have experienced some trouble of late, with Cena talking on the show Total Divas about his reluctance to marry for a second time.

Romances in WWE have always had a place in previous years as well. Female wrestler Lita has in the past dated fellow superstars Matt Hardy and Edge as well as having an on-off relationship with CM Punk.

WWE legend the Undertaker is also married to a former wrestler from the industry. His wife and mother of their daughter, Kaia, is Michelle McCool who wrestled  between 2004-2011.

Perhaps the most well-known couple in the current WWE line-up are Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, who come October this year will have been married for 11 years.

As with many relationships within the company though, it was not all plain sailing. Previous WWE Diva Joanie 'Chyna' Laurer accused McMahon of taking Triple H, her then partner, away from her.

There seems to be a very fine line between relationships in the ring and in reality away from WWE, but there will always certainly be several romances between the wrestling stars.
