Anyone who watched the Elimination Chamber back in February is in no doubt about who stole the show. The Shield vs The Wyatt family was one of the most skilful and flowing matches the WWE have presented in a very long time.
The main event at that pay-per-view saw six men fight it out for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship inside Satans structure, but still they were upstaged.
This lead to many arguing that The Wyatt family were as much a part of that match as The Shield and so another match of the same calibre could only take place between the two stables.
Luke Harper and Eric Rowan are gifted in ring performers for their size, Harper does things in and outside of the ring that shouldn’t be possible for a guy as big as him. But The Shield were the ones who owned that match. Seth Rollins' in ring skills have sky rocketed as of late, Roman Reigns has his own move set now that the crowd cheer for whenever they see him setting up for either the “superman punch” or “the spear” and Dean Ambrose has the strangest in ring style I have ever seen, it’s almost just hit and hope for him.
It’s crazy to believe that these three superstars have only been on the main roster for around 18 months. They have become main event superstars in record time and have made it hard to imagine WWE without them.
This is their second Wrestlemania, after the feat of defeating Randy Orton, Big Show and Sheamus last year, their opponents this year are not as high up the ladder as the previous three but the match has been promoted as “new school vs old school” which means bragging rights are on the line.
The New Age Outlaws haven’t been on par with the way they wrestled in the 90s for a long time after coming back to WWE a few months ago and Kane is no longer the big red machine that struck horror into the hearts of children everywhere during the Attitude Era, he is instead Corporate Kane. But Corporate Kane could still prove that the big red monster is still in there somewhere.
Many believe there is nothing riding on this match because there are no titles, but there is a lot of pride involved in this match, The Shield were beaten as they have never been beaten before by The New Age Outlaws and Kane a few weeks ago. Whilst Kane will be out for revenge after the triple power-bomb he has encountered at the hands of the trio, The New Age Outlaws are just on their friend Kane's side and before the assault had no visible problems with The Shield.
Will Billy, Jesse and Kane be able to step up against the most dominant stable in WWE history? Or will The Shield prove that regardless of their opponent or the size of the stage they always steal the show.
