Chelsea have held talks with Paris Saint-Germain ace Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to reports in Italy.
The former Napoli man impressed when the two teams met last night, and opened the scoring inside the first five minutes.
While that may have endeared him to Chelsea further - at least in terms of a potential transfer - respected Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio reports that contact was made between the two parties last month.
The PSG star's agent is said to have met with representatives of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to discuss a potential transfer.
Di Marzio claims that Lavezzi would be open to a move to Stamford Bridge - although a return to Italy could be on the cards.
Chelsea certainly look in need of some fresh blood after their uncharacteristically sloppy display last at the Parc des Prince last night.
They face an uphill task if they are to make it to the semi-finals after conceding a late Javier Pastore goal.
Earlier on Eden Hazard had levelled things up from the spot in the first half before a David Luiz own goal made it 2-1. Pastore rounded things off with the last kick of the game.
Afterwards, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho branded his side's defending a 'joke', and also admitted he wasn't happy with his strikers.
