With Wrestlemania XXX now just days away, rumours concerning just which legendary superstars could be set to feature at the latest edition of wrestling's showpiece event in New Orleans have reached fever pitch.

Perhaps the most exciting piece of speculation comes by the way of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, with WrestlingInc.com citing reports that the WWE has reportedly contacted The Rock and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin - along with other names such as Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Roddy Piper and Jim 'JR' Ross - about playing a role inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The source further suggests that the impression given is that The Rock - who came back to headline Wrestlemania in 2012 in a match against John Cena - will appear on Sunday in some capacity, but no-one yet knows what that will be.

Austin's status appears to be somewhat of a mystery, although those aforementioned reports seem to speculate that the Rattlesnake's presence in the Big Easy could indicate that he has accepted an offer to appear at the event.

While there are a number of excellent matches on the card for Wrestlemania, it just wouldn't be the same without at least one special surprise appearance from at least one famous face from the WWE's past.

WWE fans - what do you make of these rumours? Can you see The Rock or Stone Cold featuring at Wrestlemania?
