Fox Sports have learned that the Federal Government will open an investigation into Florida State Seminoles handling of the sexual assault allegation against Jameis Winston.
Not only will the investigation cover the case of 2014 Heisman Trophy Winner Winston but it will also delve into the details of all other sexual assault cases at Florida State University and their students over the past three years.
The important reasoning behind the question is to answer the significant question whether the school administration complied under federal gender-equity law known as Title IX.
Title IX is of the Education Amendments of 1972, it states in that: 'No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.'
Officials at the Florida State University have not been available for comment but Braine Kerr who is one of the attorneys of the woman in the case against Winston commented on the proceedings: "We're gratified by these developments."
The outcomes of the investigation will become clear in the near future, to read more about the initial case follow the link provided.
