Cristiano Ronaldo | Huge ego

Cristiano Ronaldo’s immense determination to become the world’s best player is obviously more beneficial than detrimental to Real Madrid, but his giant ego can sometimes hinder the Spanish giants.

While it’s impossible to say that Ronaldo has failed at the Bernabeu - he has scored a ridiculous 246 goals in 240 matches, after all - it’s fact he has won just two major honours with Los Blancos in five years.

That simply isn’t good enough. Ronaldo was signed for by Real Madrid for £80m in 2009 to help Los Blancos end their wait for ‘La Decima’ - the 10th European Cup. So far, however, Ronaldo has failed.

His desire to win the Pichichi means that he will have more shots than his teammates every single game. He wants to be the match-winner, the man who takes the limelight and the headlines. But would Real Madrid win more silverware and become more of a team without Ronaldo?

Nobody doubts his immense talent - but all too often it seems Cristiano Ronaldo believes he plays for Cristiano Ronaldo rather than Real Madrid.
