Mesut Ozil | Poor work ethic
Playing for Arsenal has come as a bit of a shock to the system of Mesut Ozil, whose work ethic has been called into question this season.
The Germany international is happiest playing in a central role, just behind the striker, where he isn’t required to do much tracking back. However, the £42.5m man, who arrived at the Emirates Stadium from Real Madrid last summer, often fails to carry his out defensive duties when deployed in a wide area.
For example, against Bayern Munich he left his full-back exposed time and time again by failing to get back. Also, when he loses the ball, he is reluctant to try and win it back. Instead he often throws his hands up in the air or rolls his eyes, which hardly helps his teammates.
