The most anticipated horse race of the year is without doubt The Grand National at Aintree. It is the pinnacle of horse racing and it is just over 24 hours away. Here, I will give you my picks of who I believe will come up trumps and claim the title of grand national winner not to mention the £1 million prize.

The bookies favourite is Teaforthree at a modest 3-1 with Ladbrokes. With the horse coming an impressive 3rd in last year's race and is now just as good if not better, he could very well 'brew' up something special.

Trained by Rebecca Curtis,  who says that the favourite, "is in great form and has come out of the Cheltenham Gold Cup really well." However in the last 20 years, only five winners have been the favourite so it is your call.

Another horse that I feel may have a chance is Hawkes Point,  who is a horse who can stay for as long as you need him too, and that is what is needed in such a demanding race. A 2nd place finish in the Welsh National solidifies his title credentials.

If the ground is right tomorrow he may just be your go-to horse. Ladbrokes are quoting a very generous 33-1 for this one to do the deed.

After winning the cross-country at the Cheltenham festival last month, Balthazhar King is set to take an attempt at winning both of the individual races.

In last year's Grand National, Balthazhar King set the early pace but ended up a very well beaten 15th place from the winner, Auroras Encore.

Ladbrokes are giving you a very modest 20-1 for Balthazhar King to hit the spot on race day.

Phillip Hobbs, trainer, had said that ,"Balthazhar King will run provided the ground doesn't get any softer than good to soft". But was announced yesterday that he would run and could be the lucky horse for you.

But at the end of the day, anything can happen in such a big occasion.

Good luck with whoever you pick.
