Champ Bailey is joining up with the New Orleans Saints, per sources.
The 12-time Pro Bowler was released by the Denver Broncos after nine years with the Colorado franchise at the start of free agency after his least productive season in the NFL, but his agent today confirmed he has found himself a new team.
The deal with the Saints is rumored to be for two years but as yet the money offered is unknown.
Bailey has excelled during his 15-year career in the pros but managed only five starts with the Broncos last season due to a foot injury, but Sean Payton clearly feels he has a little left to offer down in Louisiana.
The corner had, in recent weeks, previously expressed a desire to play some safety when he found a new team, but with the Saints having brought in top-bill free agent Jairus Byrd, and Kenny Vaccaro already on the roster that is now an unlikely proposition.
We still await official confirmation from the Saints and the player himself, but when Adam Schefter announces it on Twitter you know that can't be far away.
