New New York Yankees sensation, Japanese Pitcher Masahiro Tanaka has done nothing but make headlines since he touched down on American soil and he had a debut to remember on Friday.
Tanaka got off to a questionable start for the Yankees as he gave up a home run on just his third pitch in Major League Baseball.
Toronto Blue Jays Melky Carbrera was the man to place a momentary seed of doubt into New York fans minds but the Japanese sensation recovered well.
He went on to get the next three batters out including catching Jose Bautista looking at a curveball and getting Edwin Encarnacion to miss on a slider.
Tanaka's debut has been the talk of the off-season ever since he sealed a five-year, $155 million deal with the Yankees in January.
But the pitcher made headlines straight away after he hired his own commercial airliner to fly him and his family from the Land of the Rising Sun to the Big Apple.
Tanaka pitched seven innings tonight and had a big hand in helping the Yankees run out 7-3 winners over the Blue Jays
