On-loan Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois could become one of the most expensive goalkeepers ever, should Jose Mourinho decide to sell the highly-rated Belgian in the summer.
The 21-year-old has built a reputation as one of the most exciting young stoppers in world football, following three successful seasons at Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are believed to be among Courtois's growing list of admirers, while Diego Simeone remains keen to keep him at the Vicente Calderon on a permanent basis.
There have been some doubts surrounding the youngster's long-term future at Stamford Bridge, with Courtois keen to continue his development by playing regular first-team football, and the continued presence of veteran custodian Petr Cech could make the Chelsea loanee reluctant to return to west London.
Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo revealed in January that the Blues would want around £20million for Courtois, which would make him the second most expensive goalkeeper in the world.
"Courtois is incredible on the pitch," Cerezo was quoted by the Daily Mirror. "We are interested but the price is too much for a keeper. We want to try to do business, but it depends on Chelsea. We must study everything.
"For me, it is clear that Courtois is the best goalkeeper in Europe."
With just two years remaining on his five-year contract, Mourinho must make a decision about the custodian's future before the transfer window reopens in the summer. Standing by Cech will almost certainly mean the end of Courtois's Chelsea career.
