WrestleMania XXX has proven to be one of the best yet controversial events in recent years. We were taken through a roller-coaster of emotions as we witnessed moments being created last night, from Cesaro to Daniel Bryan.

The event itself was a success regardless of how upset you were regarding the outcome of one particular match which we will get into. Certain superstars finally got their moment on the grandest stage of them all and are touted for big things in the coming months.
First off let’s take a look at the results from WrestleMania XXX.

Pre show: The Usos © defeat. Rybaxel, Los Matadores and Rybaxel – Retained their WWE Tag Team Championships.

Daniel Bryan defeats. Triple H – enters the main event of WrestleMania XXX

The SHIELD defeat. Kane and The New Age Outlaws

Cesaro reigns supreme in The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

John Cena defeats. Bray Wyatt

Brock Lesnar defeats. The Undertaker – the streak has been broken

AJ Lee retains her Divas Championship in the Vickie Guerrero Divas Invitational

Daniel Bryan defeats. Randy Orton and Batista – NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Starting with the pre-show; it was a great opening match to say the least, Rybaxel never looked a massive threat apart from Ryback’s minute of dominance on Los Matadores. I think we all expect this to happen as Los Matadores were the first to be eliminated followed by Rybaxel and obviously The Real Americans were the final team eliminated.

The majority of us predicted this, The Usos weren’t going to lose 34 days after finally capturing the gold and we knew The Real Americans were going to break up; and Cesaro finally turned face which was great to see at event of this stature as he hit the Cesaro Swing on his now former tag partner. Although a great team in The Real Americans have broken up, it is a big plus for Cesaro and made the pre-show more relevant, but nevertheless it was a big moment for The Usos to retain at WrestleMania.

Again, another match which was a little predictable was Daniel Bryan defeating Triple H to enter the main event. The only question was whether Triple H would enter the match too. This was a great opening match and we expected nothing less especially with Bryan in the ring, Triple H also looked brilliant having not competed in a year so it was good to see Hunter can still hang at the top.

A great opening match, some good spots and Triple H brought the best out in Bryan at WrestleMania; I don’t think anything could have been done differently as Triple H stuck to the storyline and tried to hurt Bryan more than he would have needed to. Stephanie also played a key role and it was fitting to see Triple H attack Bryan after his loss, setting up Bryan’s victory to be a lot sweeter at the end of the night.

Years ago six-man tag team matches were torturous to sit through but The SHIELD revitalised tag team action ever since they made their debut. Which means it was disappointing that their match last night only lasted a couple of minutes. The SHIELD looked good though, they interrupted The New Age Outlaws which was a good start and even donned some masks which looked brilliant.

But as good as a second successive victory is for The SHIELD; a squash match isn’t. Whether this was the plan or the previous match went over the limit, this match wasn’t as good as I’d hoped or wanted it to be. The SHIELD were always going to win and it was a good finish also, hitting a double-triple powerbomb on The New Age Outlaws, a good result but not the best of matches.

The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal was highly anticipated as it was difficult to put your finger on superstar. Nevertheless Cesaro’s career will never be the same after WrestleMania XXX, not only did he get his moment by turning face but he becomes the first winner of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. And what a way he did it too, creating his own Hogan/Andre moment by easily tossing The Big Show over the top rope for the victory.

I can’t think of a better or more deserving winner, we already know Cesaro can hang at the top as he competed in the Elimination Chamber a short while ago and it was only a matter of time before he finally got what he deserved. He certainly deserved his victory and his big moment, let’s hope the WWE don’t drop the ball with this one.

One of the biggest talking points of the night was the outcome of the John Cena and Bray Wyatt match. What fans need to understand is that regardless of the outcome, Bray Wyatt has already cemented his status as a future star of the business. John Cena was never going to lose this match especially after the storyline focused so much on his legacy, would the WWE really have Bray Wyatt defeat Cena and end his legacy in the process? I think not.
I think the majority of us just wanted Bray to win but deep down knew this was Cena’s night.

Bray Wyatt has defeated Kane, Daniel Bryan and The SHIELD in his pay-per-view matches whilst John Cena has not won a pay-per-view match since he returned and defeated Alberto Del Rio to become World Heavyweight Champion, there was no way the company’s biggest star would lose again, especially at the biggest stage. In my preview I mentioned this was going to be the match of the night and looking back I believe it was, a great effort from Bray Wyatt and the future certainly looks bright.

The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. The Streak vs. The Beast. The Undertaker looked weak in this match, there is no denying that and there are rumours that The Deadman suffered from a concussion earlier on in the match. In fact, the match was boring. Nothing compared to previous years but the truth is Lesnar is totally different from guys like Punk and Triple H who successfully carried The Undertaker, Lesnar isn’t capable of that.

I think it’s safe to say we were all in shock when we heard the bell ring, we thought it was a mistake and fans are still believing it was a mistake. But the screen showed the 1 in ’21-1’ as soon as Lesnar scored the pin fall. It was the plan all along, Lesnar was always going to win and The Undertaker wanted Lesnar to end the streak, what good this does for The Undertaker? Who knows?

Maybe this is The Undertaker’s last WrestleMania, maybe he has one more left in him and may go at it with Sting without the streak on the line. What is disappointing is that another part-timer has scored such a big victory, he has ended the greatest streak in sports entertainment, not a small feat by any means. My personal take on this is that it is frustrating that The Undertaker lost to an older Lesnar, and not to the 2002 Brock Lesnar who was in his prime and unstoppable at that time, and was dominating The Undertaker week after week. Whatever it may be fans will be disappointed for some time to come but we need to accept it, the streak has ended.

Lucky for us there was a match in between the streak ending and the main event of the night, for some of us we used this time to come to grips with the loss whilst others used this as a bathroom break. In all honesty this match was better than expected. Some of the divas really impressed in Naomi and Brie Bella but the outcome was always going to be AJ Lee, the WWE needs AJ as champion and need her in the company regardless of Punk’s situation. A good finish and a well-deserved win, a great moment for AJ at such a prestigious event.

The main event, what better way to end the night than by Daniel Bryan finally having his moment; the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion fully deserved his victory and pulled double duty in fantastic fashion at the showcase of the immortals. This was the biggest positive to come from the event alongside Cesaro’s victory and face turn.

There was brilliant spots in this match such as the Batista Bomb turning into an RKO on the announcer’s desk; a fantastic spot in the match and it looked as if Bryan was out of it even after Triple H interfered.

But Bryan refused to stay down and the fans drove him to victory locking in the Yes! Lock on Batista for the submission victory, a fitting end to a fitting journey. Kudos to Triple H for riding this storyline out for so long and keeping us all entertained.

But the night belongs to Daniel Bryan but perhaps it will always be remembered for one thing, the streak ending.

I thought the pay-per-view was good, regardless of the streak ending personally I was disappointed but The Undertaker delivered something special to us fans; the event did deliver and will go down as one of the best.
