Real Madrid are to make a summer bid for young English starlet Luke Shaw, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
The Southampton left-back has impressed in the Premier League this season, prompting rumours that he might be on his way to a bigger club this summer.
He was first linked with a move to Chelsea, but Jose Mourinho might be more concerned with fixing his offensive situation before worrying about his already good defence.
Real Madrid's Fabio Coentrao will most likely leave this summer, which has Real scouring the market for a defensive replacement. Though Shaw seems ideal, he is still only 18 and is valued at around €13 million. It is unlikely that Madrid will shell out the money for a young, inexperienced defender even if he has been capped by England.
Another option for Madrid is Benefica defender Guilherme Siqueira, who is on loan in Lisbon from Granada.
At 28 years of age, Siqueira would be the more experienced option and he has played 24 matches with Benfica.
