The Croatian teenager marvellously defeated Jerzy Janowicz and secured the second point for his team in the Davis Cup against Poland.
A few months ago, Coric was an unknown tennis player looking for his way through the junior tournaments. He holds the sixth place on the ITF table (junior rankings) and has won the US Open last year in his category, but just a day ago he started to fill the newspapers.
He has been selected, amongst two other junior and Marin Cilic, for the Croatia Davis Cup team. Cilic, the 26th player of the world ensured the first point against Michal Przysiezny and it seemed that Coric will have a much tougher opponent, but proven them all wrong.
Janowicz, the current holder of the 21st place in the male world of tennis, surprised his fans after losing from Coric in five sets. On the other side, the youngster presented his ability and potential which could lead to a bright future and the top of the ranking table.
Could this lad be the inheritor of the ex-Wimbledon winner Goran Ivanisevic? Hopefully, his recent trainings with Rafael Nadal will make the Croatian surprise over and over again.
