At this point in the season we should be getting incredibly excited by the fact that various exciting title races, such as the Premier League and La Liga, are heading towards their conclusion and revelling in the fact that it is so difficult to predict the outcomes.
But no, we're not going to do that, we're going to concentrate on the upcoming summer transfer window. Actually, we're taking a look at some of the numerous reports that emerge daily from the grapevine of social media, speculation, tabloid whispers and strategically placed agent quotes.
Whatever club you support there's a 99 per cent chance they have been linked with some bloke or another for a bog money summer switch. Anyone who says they don't even get a little bit excited at envisioning a flash new player wearing the kit of their allegiance is just lying, plain and simple.
It works the opposite way too though; those that choose to lie about the excitement of an exotic new big signing are the same as those who claim they do not do a massive facepalm, whether actual or mental, when their club is linked with a particularly undesirable player. In fact, we at GMS think the second of those is more dishonest, though it's difficult to articulate why.
Anyway, GMS have been scouring the transfer terrain leading to this summer's raft of deals and picked out a number of reports that will give supporters of the club concern good reason to activate said facepalm, maybe even the lesser-spotted double facepalm.
Unsurprisingly, we have compiled a sweet slideshow made up of the most facepalm-inducing rumours and those that would just plain be a bad idea.
