The Premier League is well known for being full of superb, accurate passing football. I have chosen to select only midfielders because the majority of passes made by defenders are only around six yards in acres of space, not at all difficult to make.

For this reason Liverpool's Mamadou Sakho, Arsenal's Per Mertesacker and Liverpool's Martin Skrtel are the most accurate passers in the Premier League. So out of all the midfielders in the league, who has the highest passing accuracy?

10: Leon Osman (Everton) [88.38%)

The midfielder has been at Everton for 14 years (and has just been awarded a testimonial), and his consistency has been awarded with a couple of England Caps. He is known for his accurate passing and superb long shots.

9: Tom Cleverley (Manchester United) [89.65%]

The 24-year-old is often criticised by Red Devils fans, but he is the most accurate passer of Manchester United (ahead of Michael Carrick, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata). Perhaps the EnglandiInternational deserves more recognition for consistency and reliability?

8: Jonathan De Guzman (Swansea) [90.06%]

Arguably one of Swansea's players of the season, De Guzman is a mastermind in the Swans  midfield and a possible candidate for the Dutch squad at the World Cup 2014.

7: Samir Nasri (Manchester City) [90.20%]

Nasri has surprised us all by producing a fantastic performance over the course of the season, which was perfectly timed after a thoroughly disappointing 2012/13 Campaign. Nasri, possibly the most attacking on this list, has done the near-impossible task of keeping Jesus Navas out of the starting XI.

6: Ki Sung-Yueng (Sunderland, On Loan from Swansea) [90.22%]

More of a long range passer than some of the others, many were baffled when Swansea star Ki Sung-Yueng was loaned out to Sunderland from Swansea, having had a brilliant campaign. Arguably, if Swansea had kept him, Ki could have been crucial and maybe kept Michael Laudrup his job.

5: Moussa Dembele (Tottenham Hotspur) [90.41%]

The versatile Belgian midfielder has been challenged for his spot by Paulinho this season, but has answered any critics with many solid displays, and this very impressive passing stat shows us why.

4: Yaya Toure (Manchester City) [90.76%]

The big Ivorian is indisputably a contender for PFA Player of the Year, and as well as having 18 Premier League goals Toure also has a truly brilliant passing accuracy.

3: Lucas Leiva (Liverpool) [91.33%]

Perhaps not always noticed by Reds fans, Lucas is a vital part of midfield, incredibly consistent. One thing to note is that Lucas Leiva's passing record is the best of all Liverpool players. Interestingly highly rated midfielder Stephen Gerrard is ranked 33rd best passer in the Premier League. Perhaps his passing isn't what it's cracked up to be?

2: Mikel Arteta (Arsenal) [91.42%]

Uncapped Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta is one of the greatest passers on the planet. Brilliant at long balls, and his impressive record of 91.42% passing success mark him out as a vital asset to Arsenal.

1: Jose Alberto Canas (Swansea) [91.49%]

A surprise? As we've seen before, Swansea are full of passing Genii, and Canas has been crucial to the team since arriving in the summer. Although known mostly for accurate tackling, Canas is also the most accurate passer in the Premier League. He may well be considered one of the League's finest defensive midfielders in years to come...
