Last night on Monday Night Raw, for once the attention was placed on the WWE Divas, and with good reason, as British Diva Paige caused one of the upsets of the night.
The current NXT Women's Champion was making her WWE debut on Raw and made her mark in an extremely impressive manner.
After AJ called her out to the ring, putting her title on the line after Paige had interrupted her, the Brit managed to break out of AJ's infamous Black Widow lock and then flatten AJ with a Paige Turner before pinning the American for the win.
The 21-year-old was congratulated by many of the WWE Divas backstage who were unable to defeat AJ and take her title during the Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational match at WrestleMania XXX on Sunday night.
But they will not be praising the British wrestler for long as they will look prevent her from creating a title reign anywhere near as long as AJ's 295-day record.
The fact the WWE proved that Paige was able to do something the majority of its female roster could not, proves the impact it feels she could have on the WWE Divas part of the industry.
The rivalry Paige's win could start up between her and AJ is reminiscent of the ongoing feud which legendary female wrestlers Trish Stratus and Lita had some ten years ago.
Stratus and Lita made their hateful relationship extremely personal, as well as both women's amazing variety of moves and physical ability, causing them to have the greatest rivalry in the history of female wrestlers.
The pair even had a high profile main event Women's Championship match during an episode of Monday Night Raw a decade ago, much in the way that AJ faced Paige on Raw last night.
From the constant nasty name-calling, to the fighting over men, there was little at all that could separate these two legendary wrestlers from maintaining their top-class rivalry.
The possibility of a similar rivalry is exciting enough, but it remains to be seen whether this idea will follow through, or if Paige will become another in a long line of Divas who does not quite match up to AJ.
Though of course, the Norwich-born wrestler's win on Monday should prove she has a lot more to give than any of the other Divas. But it is unlikely any rivalry made will come close to the historic hatred which Stratus and Lita had for each other.
