Indiana Pacers stars, Paul George and David West have asked coach Frank Vogel for rest as the Pacers struggle toward the end of the regular season.

The Pacers have lost seven of their last nine games and have fallen into the second seed in the Eastern Conference. Despite their recent dip in form however, George and West seem adamant that they want to rest up and prepare for the playoffs as the second seed.

Scott Agness of Pacers.com reports that: "Vogel said PG and DWest, two guys that have played every game, came to him about rest. Vogel regrets not giving them more days off In March."

Agness also reported that Vogel said: "Not everybody will play. We’ll pick our spots over the final four games to get the guys that need rest some rest."

It seems that Frank Vogel is bowing to the pressure put on him by the Pacers stars and that he is willing to accept their status as second seeds despite a huge game against the top seed Miami Heat later this week.

Vogel later added: "I think getting them some rest will make them fresher going into the playoffs. It’s not the answer, but I think it’s part of it."

The Pacers coach has faced a lot of pressure with his team's slump but seems keen to find any way to rejuvenate Indiana for the postseason run.
