Chelsea forward Samuel Eto'o is wanted by Inter Milan - and the Italian giants have opened talks with the player's agent.

According to the Daily Mirror, Inter Milan want to bring Eto'o back to the San Siro this summer to lead their attack.

Having signed from Anzhi last summer, the Cameroonian international has been Chelsea's most prolific striker this term with Fernando Torres and Demba Ba struggling for goals.

But following the revelation that Jose Mourinho questioned Eto'o's age and admitted that his strikers "can't score goals", the forward may be off at the end of the season if he gets a good offer.

Inter Milan, under new ownership led by Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir, are expected to be aggressive in the transfer market with a new striker thought to be a top priority.

Eto'o's Chelsea contract expires at the end of the season, and the report claims Mourinho has no intention of keeping him on. The Chelsea boss is likely to spend big money on a new forward this summer.

Eto'o has 11 goals this season following his free transfer last summer, but the 33-year-old is approaching the end of his career.

And his agent, Claudio Vigorelli, has reportedly held discussions with Inter Milan's hierarchy regarding a second stint in Italy.
