Manchester United are set to open talks tonight with Bayern Munich over a potential deal for Toni Kroos, according to Goal.com.
The midfielder, who has been the subject of interest from the Premier League champions in recent time, has reportedly told teammates that he wants to sign for the Red Devils in the summer window.
Kroos is out of contract at the Allianz Arena in the summer of 2015 and has been linked with a £40 million switch to United in the up coming market.
The Red Devils are in desperate need of midfield additions after a disappointing campaign under David Moyes.
And now, if reports are to be believed, Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward looks set to begin negotiations with the German outfit tonight, with the Red Devils preparing to take on Bayern in the Champions League quarter-final second leg.
Manchester United are set to double the German international's wages to around £200,000-a-week in an attempt to lure him to Old Trafford.
However, Kroos will be looking to dump Manchester United out of Europe tonight, with the scores level at 1-1 going into tonight's clash. Moyes' side will be looking to pull off a shock in Germany as they target a semi-final place.
