The future of the WWE all depends on what NXT provides.
Some of the biggest names competing on Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown today came up from NXT; the WWE's developmental territory.
For you casual Raw and SmackDown viewers, perhaps you were unaware that the likes of The SHIELD, Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett, Big E and most recently The Wyatt Family all competed at NXT.
NXT allows these superstars to hone their skills inside the ring and on the microphone, creating a smaller fan base before they make that all important leap to the main roster, if they're lucky enough to stand out from the rest.
NXT should be proud of what they have accomplished, Bryan is on the verge of capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, The SHIELD took the WWE Universe by storm in 2012, Big E is holding the Intercontinental Championship whilst Bray Wyatt will face off against the WWE's number one superstar in John Cena at WrestleMania.
Now that these superstars have established themselves as main roster talent, who is next in line to make the jump from NXT to the main roster? We have already witnessed Emma ease into the main roster whilst 'The Bulgarian Brute' Alexander Rusev made his highly anticipated debut on Monday Night Raw where he squashed Zack Ryder.
But most impressively NXT Women's Champion Paige captured the Diva's Championship by pinning AJ Lee on the same night, an incredible debut for the 21-year-old from Norwich.
After Rusev and Paige there is still tonnes of talent that NXT possesses, all itching to get their opportunity to make it to either Raw or SmackDown; so to help you figure out who you should keep an eye on in the near future on the main roster, here are the five NXT superstars you should definitely keep your eye on - who could graduate to the main roster in the near future.
Just missing out on the top five are The Ascension and Adam Rose, the team consists of Konnor and Viktor and are the current NXT Tag Team Champions. They are a brilliant tag team and were rumoured to be the ones teaming with Kane to take on The SHIELD at this year's WrestleMania; give it some time and you will be impressed with The Ascension when they debut on the main roster. For now you can watch their titan-tron here. Adam Rose was initially in my countdown, but with his vignette airing on Monday Night Raw he is guaranteed to be making his debut within the next few weeks.
Aiden English - Aiden English is certainly one of the more unique characters currently competing in NXT. If you take a first glance at him you would never guess that he is a WWE superstar; but perhaps a 19th century bare-knuckle brawler. His look is unique, his entrance is unique, his microphone as well as his in-ring ability is unique.
Of course, he isn't the best NXT talent just yet, obviously he needs a little bit more work and his time in NXT will only improve his chances of becoming a big WWE superstar in the future. He has proven in certain occasions that he can put on a good performance as we once saw in his match against Rob Vam Dam, he may have lost but his individual performance was good.
The longer he is at NXT, the bigger his fan base will get, and the more he will improve on his weaknesses. You can click here to watch a video of Aiden English vs. Sheamus.
Mojo Rawley - This man doesn't get hyped, he stays hyped. Mojo Rawley is billed as one of the most passionate, eccentric and hard-working individuals on the roster and he never fails to remind us of this. He seems to have a tireless motor which allows him to compete at the highest level every single week, the energy, athleticism with his superior agility and speed along with his size and charisma makes Mojo Rawley special.
He went undrafted in the NFL draft in 2009, and was billed as the strongest member of the Arizona Cardinals team before he was injured, that was a blessing in disguise for him as he is on the verge of becoming a main roster superstar.
He has the potential and is clearly showing it, it first came as a surprise that Rawley was touted as the next John Cena, that fans would get behind him with this gimmick and right now it certainly looks that way; a little while longer in NXT will help him in every way possible.
Tyler Breeze - Tyler Breeze probably has one of the biggest egos in NXT but that's one of many reasons why he will be very successful on the main roster, his Twitter name is '@MmmGorgeous', that kind of says it all. He too has a unique gimmick, and quite an odd one. He is very egotistical and self-absorbed as his gimmick revolves around taking 'selfies', during his entrance, interviews, matches and post matches; he pulls out his phone to stare at his face.
This has become popular amongst the NXT audience, as has Breeze himself. So much so that the announcers let the fans know when Tyler Breeze has entered the building, even if his match could be an hour later.
He is a mix of Fandango and Gorgeous George and Breeze is not just a good character, he can definitely work in the ring with his brilliant athleticism. Click here to watch Tyler Breeze's NXT debut.
Sami Zayn - Sami Zayn really doesn't need an introduction, even in NXT Zayn is probably one of the better wrestlers in the entire company today and the fans adore him and rightfully so. He can talk so well on the microphone, he can get a reaction from anything and everything he does inside and outside of the ring just speaks for itself.
If I was to pick one NXT superstar who will make the biggest impact on the main roster, Sami Zayn would be the safest bet because is almost a guarantee to be a success, he is just too good to not succeed.
He has entertained millions worldwide and now the WWE fans are in for a treat, he has had some incredible matches against the likes of Bo Dallas, Jack Swagger and who can forget his incredible 2-out-of-3 falls match against Cesaro, pure art in the ring against another incredible performer.
Enzo Amore - Enzo Amore is one of the best talkers on the NXT roster today, he knows how to walk, how to talk and he can wrestle. He excels in all the basics even though he is not the biggest of superstars and in NXT, size really doesn't matter.
The good thing about Enzo is that you are forced to listen because everything he says is either funny, interesting or a mix of both and that's what makes a good superstar on the microphone. Then again, with his distinct New Jersey accent it's a little difficult not to notice him.
He is a confident talker on the microphone, funny and can obviously wrestle; the future looks bright for Enzo Amore if he is used right in NXT, and will be a great addition to the main roster once he gets the call up
