Kent have announced the signing of West Indian seamer Robbie Joseph for the 2014 season.

The Antigua-born paceman has not appeared for a county since 2012 when he was released by Leicestershire.

He had enjoyed a successful spell with the Canterbury-based side before that, having made his initial debut for the county at the end of the 2005 season.

He remained at Kent until the end of the 2011 season.

During his time at Kent he took 144 first class wickets at 31.25, he also took 47 wickets in List A and Twenty20 cricket.

Performances in 2008 led him to the England Performance Squad and to recognition with England Lions.

Following his departure from Kent he joined Leicestershire for the 2012 season, where he struggled for appearances, and was released.

He has featured for Kent in pre-season matches against Durham and Essex.

In his most recent game, this week's draw against Loughborough MCCU, he took 2-56 in his 19 overs.

Kent have been tipped to struggle in this season's County Championship, and rising stars Daniel Bell-Drummond and Sam Northeast will be key to their fortunes.
