Kentucky star Julius Randle has officially announced he will enter the 2014 NBA Draft according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

Fresh off the defeat in the NCAA Tournament final for Kentucky, freshman Julius Randle will enter this years NBA draft where he will likely be one of the top picks.

The young power forward averaged a double-double in 2013-14 and led his Kentucky Wildcat team to the Championship game where they were defeated by the Connecticut Huskies.

At 6 ft 9 and 250 pounds, Randle is widely considered NBA ready despite some questions over his defensive prowess.

A highly anticipated prospect who has only spent one year in college basketball is a very popular choice with a lot of NBA general managers and its almost certain that he wont fall very far in the draft, he was even considered a possible number one selection earlier this year.

The news wont come as a shock to the Kentucky Wildcats who are used to one-and-done players and are the masters in rebuilding championship-calibre teams in a short space of time.
