Neither Chelsea nor Arsenal appear to have yet made an offer for striker target Jackson Martinez, with the player's agent having claimed that there are no ongoing negotiations whatsoever involving his client.

Both Premier League rivals - along with the likes of Inter, Tottenham and Liverpool - have been linked with the Colombian international, but it seems that Martinez's camp will not be holding any talks over the future until the end of the season.

"At the moment there is not any kind of negotiation for Jackson Martinez,” Manuel Manso said in an interview that was cited by talkSPORT.

"Until May we will not talk with any team. He’s focused on the end ofthe season with Porto – once the championship is finished we will see."

While it seems that there are no concrete talks in progress with Martinez just at the moment, that will surely change during the summer with most of his aforementioned suitors expected to be in the market for a new striker.

Of those clubs mentioned, Chelsea and Arsenal would appear to be the most in need of reinforcements in the final third.

Despite the heroics of a certain Demba Ba who secured Chelsea's place in the Champions League semi-finals this week at the expense of free-spending Paris Saint-Germain, Jose Mourinho evidently has doubts about his current crop of frontmen that also includes the misfiring Fernando Torres.

And with Samuel Eto'o's initial one-year contract at Stamford Bridge set to expire this summer, it leaves the Portuguese surely requiring the purchase of at least one new forward.

Arsenal, meanwhile, look to lose the much-maligned figure of Nicklas Bendtner when his own deal comes to an end in a few months time, while Olivier Giroud continues to attract criticism for a seeming inability to perform at a high level on a weekly basis.

Martinez - who is valued at around the £25 million mark - is yet to really make his mark in one of Europe's most reputable leagues, but a positive record of 18 goals in 26 appearances for Porto this season suggests he could easily make the transition to top-flight English football.
