We start off in the NBA where LeBron James all but admitted defeat in the race for the MVP.

Speaking after the Miami Heat’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, James conceded that the Kevin Durant was probably more deserving of the award.

To baseball, where a headfirst slide could put five-time All-Star Josh Hamilton out of action for two months.

The 2010 American League MVP was put on the disabled list by the LA Angels after suffering a torn ligament in his left thumb while sliding in to first base.

And finally to College Basketball, where shooting guard Derrick Gordon became the first ever openly gay player in Division 1 history yesterday.

The U-MASS man explained that he took strength from Jason Collins and Michael Sam before making the decision to come out.
