Former NBA star Magic Johnson explained his excitement over the start to the Major League Baseball season Thursday, after two of the top contenders went face to face.
Los Angeles played host to what could prove to be an eventual World Series match-up come the Autumn, and in this early two-game series the spoils were shared.
Not only that, both of the games between the LA Dodgers and the Detroit Tigers went to a tenth inning due to the tight nature of the contest.
In Tuesday's battle the Dodgers edged it 3-2, but come Wednesday it was the turn of the Tigers to prevail 7-6 to level the series.
Johnson found it hard to hide his excitement on the social media platform Twitter Thursday, as he revelled in his excitement.
"Good to see two potential playoff teams go head-to-head, @Dodgers vs. Tigers! A split in the 2 game series with both games in extra innings!
"Both the @Dodgers and Tigers have outstanding pitching & hitting. It's my dream one day to see the Dodgers vs. Tigers in the World Series!"
Johnson then added his thoughts on the quality of the pitching, with a special thought for Dodgers' pitcher Josh Beckett.
"I was impressed with Josh Beckett's pitching last night and Dee Gordon is still swinging a hot bat for our @Dodgers!"
