Get the checkbook out Rondo that flop was truly awful

Published Add your comment

Stop the search, the winner of the NBA flop of the year award has just been found.

Step forward Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics.

You will be able to collect your $5,000 prize/fine in the next few days.

The veteran hit the floor late in the fourth quarter in last night's game against the Atlanta Hawks and must have envisaged that fine coming as he made his way to the deck in slow-motion.

As Jeff Teague made a move toward the basket, Rondo begins to fall backwards anticipating contact. Unfortunately for the Celtics man that contact never comes, as Teague dribbles past him - watching Rondo go down as he does so.

We might be getting it all wrong of course, Rondo might have simply felt inclined to take a rest as the Celtics wind down their season - it does look suspiciously like he is taking a nap in the video.

You can watch it in all it's glory above (the moment of magic occurs around the 0.30 mark), or in gif form via this link.
