The pain that the cricket fans have had to endure over the years, with a lack of palatable games available to them, seems to be coming to an end with Don Bradman Cricket'14 being released on April 11 in the UK. The game, available on leading consoles, is being launched by Home Entertainment Suppliers Pty Ltd (HES) and Big Ant Studios.

"Don Bradman Cricket 14 will deliver the most realistic gameplay and promises to be the greatest cricket game of all time,” said managing director, Sebastian Giompaolo. “The comprehensive 20 year career mode and plethora of features including access to community generated players and teams through the Cricket Academy that will provide endless hours of enjoyment of cricket both off and on the field”.

I must say that I well and truly agree with Giompaolo because of the kind of features that this endearing new game has on offer. Being endorsed by Bradman Foundation, Bowral itself, Bradman Cricket'14 has a variety of customisation options from batting to fielding.

For the very first time, there has come a game that will actually "teach" you to play cricket in a manner. Yes ladies and gentlemen, Big Ant Studios have designed what is a bit of a belter in my view and something that was only a dream a few months ago for the gamers. Who would have thought that we would ever have DRS, player physics customisation, a 20-year career, playing online against other teams of the world and loads of other features in a game?

Talking about the gameplay now, let me apprise you in the very start that you should completely forget every single cricket game that you have played thus far as this is different. Imagine yourself standing on a pitch in an international match, you can't do a single mistake. The very same is the case with Don Bradman Cricket'14 is you play directly at the highest level. This is why, the designers have very intelligently offered five different levels, the first one being of a rookie which allows you to ease into the game controls and hence proceed to the higher levels.

Another thing that the game has on offer is "The Don Bradman Academy" where you can create competitions, tours, match types, players, umpires which just sets the game apart from the rest of those "jejune" and kiddish games. From controlling your foot movements to bowling the right lengths, from your shot selection to bringing variations in your bowling, The Big Ant Studios, to be laconic, have provided you with a virtual cricketing world where you don't have room for mistakes.

As the name Don Bradman suggests - "perfection" this game is really something that the world terms perfect. A gallant effort of asking the fans what they want and converting their ideas into reality is something worth gasconading of for its creators. The world has really been struck by this game like a storm does mainly because its makers were extremely devoid of parsimony. Folks, if cricket and gaming like terms exist in your heart, then Don Bradman Cricket'14 is sure to cause shemozzles within you brains until you get a copy of it. Get set for an absolutely rip-snorting game.
