WWE Divas champion Paige leaves parents in tears

Monday Night Raw was the stage for a new Divas champion to be born and that lady was to be Paige after she defeated AJ Lee.

It has been an amazing week for the British-born wrestler, which has seen her win the title on her debut on the historic wrestling programme Raw last Monday night.

Paige was born in the town of Norwich in the UK, and she insists despite her new found fame, she will not decide to give up her NXT Women's title.

A real family girl, she revealed that her parents were so proud of her WWE Diva win that they were reduced to tears.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror TV, she explained, "Dad couldn’t say anything! He was silent but crying tears of joy," Paige revealed to Mirror TV.

“Mum, however, couldn’t stop screaming! No way will I be vacating my NXT belt – I’m a double champion."

It's understandable that after a week like the one that Paige has had that she would be overwhelmed.

Even though she managed to give a good interview to the UK based national newspaper, it's clear that the euphoria associated with her rise is slightly getting to her somewhat.

However, she insists that she will be ready to defend her title right away.

“I was so overwhelmed when the other Divas surprised me backstage with a group hug, it was almost like a pile on!” she added.

“But when it comes to business, I will take them all on. Bring it on!”
