Floyd Mayweather posts rare sparring video on Instagram

Floyd Mayweather has provided a rare glimpse into one of his sparring sessions just weeks ahead of his big-money fight against Argentina’s Marcos Maidana.

The 37-year-old looks to be in top condition ahead of his next bout in Las Vegas on May 3 judging by this 15-second Instagram clip, which shows his sparring partner taking a series of well-timed blows to the head and midriff.

Mayweather’s punches land so perfectly on his training opponent - with accuracy and power - that is draws gasps from the watching spectators around the ring in the undefeated champion’s gym.

However, Mayweather praised his sparring partner’s ability to take the shots and continue moving forwards instead of calling it a day and stepping out of the ring.

The US boxer wrote: “This is the 3rd guy I boxed in a 15 round sparring session. He fights at 168lbs and he just keep coming no matter what.”

Mayweather is the overwhelming favourite to win his next fight at the MGM Grand, although Maidana insists that he can make the impossible possible by knocking out one of boxing’s all-time great on what is effectively home soil.

This video, however, suggests it could be a difficult night for the South American.
