The Times report that Atletico Madrid have been handed a relative boost to their hopes of fielding Courtois against Chelsea, after UEFA ruled that the €6 million clause was “null, void and unenforceable”. Chelsea could face disciplinary action if they move to enforce said stipulation.

Liverpool Brendan Rodgers is ready to “unleash the fans” on Manchester City this weekend as the two clubs contest what is set to be a pivotal encounter in the Premier League title race. The Reds are top of the table at present, and victory will leave the destination of the title in their own hands.
