Often known as a legend at Anfield, Michael Owen has tipped Liverpool to win the Premier League title as his heart says the same.
Currently, Steven Gerrard's men top the table by two points with five games to go. In a potential title decider against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday, history could well be made.
Owen said: "My heart says Liverpool and I hope they win it. But regardless if they do, it's great to see them back at the top of their game again. It's great to see Anfield rocking.
"Lots of teams have got good players but Brendan Rodgers has managed to tweak formations and get the best out of them.
"Not many teams go with two strikers up front for fear of having a weakened midfield. Half the time they put a striker out on the left wing in a position they don't really enjoy or are not used to.
"They fit people into positions they're not used to playing but, with Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, he's got his best players playing in their most favoured positions.
"And, in Suarez, they've got best striker in the league since Thierry Henry.
"It's interesting that when you analyse him there's not one thing I think is a standout.
"He's not blessed with Henry pace and he's not a big lad that knocks defenders about. He's an all-round phenomenal player that scores goals with both feet and his head.
"He's just got virtually everything."
Indeed, going with Luis Suarez last season rather than letting him got to Arsenal proved to be a decision right on the money. The striker has scored 29 goals this season and has led the charge. No doubt Suarez's heroics could lead them to a title win.
"It was the best bit of business Liverpool did, keeping him at the start of this season. You have to give the club a lot of credit," Owen added.
"Now he's playing football and not doing anything that's going to cause headlines on the front pages.
"He's got to take a lot of credit for that. He's really cleaned up his game."
Owen also thinks that Rogers will open up the bank to build en even stronger side over the summer for the Champions League.
"[Jon] Flanagan is coming on well but Jose Enrique has been injured and he might want to bring in a full-back. Maybe also a centre-half, the defence will be the main priority.
"He might bring in another midfielder and some more cover - but it's very difficult to find cover for striking positions."
