Tim Sherwood

When Tim Sherwood first succeeded Andre Villas-Boas as Tottenham manager he was like a breath of fresh air with his back-to-basics approach the polar opposite of what the Portuguese tactician had tried to instill at White Hart Lane.

However, it quickly became clear that the straight-talking coach might be a little out of his depth, with the renewed feel-good factor at Spurs soon disappearing again.

It didn't take long before rumours regarding Sherwood's long-term future resurfaced again, with Daniel Levy understood to have already held talks with soon-to-be departing Holland boss Louis van Gaal about taking over in north London from the start of next season.
